Introduction
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Kai Tak River, commonly known as the Kai Tak Nullah, the waterway situated between Kowloon City and San Po Kong was historically called as Long Jin River. At this juncture, a future model—human landscape—for urban district where nature and culture become integral is discovered. Through the Green Corridor construction project, we aim to explore 4 core zones with 4 particular themes along the canal:
Zone A: Environmental Art
An exhibition ground
Zone B: Grassroot Market
It inhabits Kai Tak River and the village front and creates a dynamic street life.
Zone C: Environmental Education
An experimental area as Ecological Educational Trail to learn about how the ecological changes happened in the Kai Tak River, and how human beings managed their behaviors and ecosystems in order to live sustainably.
Zone D: Nga Tsin Wai Bridge
A bridge design competition will be carried out. A proposed future development to restore the historic moat bridge and strengthen community connections.
